May Relational Healing
Where relating is healing
About me
Hello, and thank you for visiting this page to learn a little about me. My full name is Zoila Mayreni López (she/they). I prefer to be referred to as Mayreni (my-reh-nee, emphasis on nee). I am a disabled (left-leg amputee), bilingual (Spanish/English) immigrant from the Dominican Republic who identifies as Queer (in all aspects of my being), BIPOC (Afro-Latine), R/A Polyamorous.
I grew up in NYC (Queens Borough) and, after spending time in Chicago and a few Central Florida cities, moved to Seattle 12 years ago with my partner of 26 years and our three children (now ranging from middle school age to young adult). I am enthralled by the natural beauty of these stolen lands and have struggled to adjust to living in such a racially homogenous part of this country.
My gender, sexual, racial, and cultural identities are all central to how I relate to people, see the world, and move within it. My queer identity expands beyond gender identity and sexual preference; queerness to me is deeply related to my commitment to dismantle old programming while standing on the edge and stretching beyond myself, and in doing so, helping others do the same. It is my resolve to tear down systems of oppression (within and outside of me).
In my spare time I enjoy moments of solitude, listening to music, dancing, immersion in nature, moto-riding on windy back roads, getting tattoos (each makes me feel more like myself), and spending time with the people I love most.

My approach
As a therapist, I am a fervent change-catalyst with the ability to inspire and motivate my clients toward a vision and mission that feels aligned with their values. I am direct, have ample capacity to be open, and have a continual spirit of curiosity & collaboration. I also enjoy creating and analyzing different strategies with my clients to help them reach their therapeutic goals.
I have both interest and experience in person-centered, trauma-informed work while providing culturally competent supports (uplifting the voices and perspectives of Queer people and people of color). I believe that my personal and professional experiences, as well as my passions and desire to have broad impact on people, systems, and communities are all qualities that especially lend themselves to successfully offering therapeutic relationships that foster ongoing growth and development. I would be honored to have the opportunity to use my perspectives to help you along in your own path towards continued self-discovery and healing.
My therapeutic approach is always grounded upon decolonizing, anti-oppressive, and multicultural lenses. I tailor my therapy to each client and their presenting concerns. Every therapeutic relationship gives way to a certain alchemy that brings forth presence as a reflective mirror; with mirroring and a trusting relationship, I believe therapy can lead to increased self-awareness and healing.
I believe that trauma (little t, big T, epigenetics) impacts the way we relate to others. I use attachment theory as a means of helping conceptualize my clients’ relational experiences to bring awareness to aspects of themselves that may otherwise be inaccessible/unconscious.
I draw from Relational, Humanistic/Client Centered, Feminist, Existential, Mindful, Somatic, and Spiritual approaches. I am deeply rooted in liberatory practices and the desire to help my clients deconstruct internalized systems of oppression.
Rates
May Relational Healing, PLLC believes in providing equitable and inclusive services. They work from a sliding scale model that aligns with their social justice values.
The rate is the cost of service reflecting Z Mayreni Lopez, MS, LMHCA’s knowledge and expertise in the field of counseling. She encourages those who have financial security, own property, have personal savings and are able to pay for the wants in life to pay above rate to cover the cost of services for those that do not have the same level of financial security or ability to pay for therapy.
The flexible rate, which is negotiated with the client, are for those unable to access therapy at the regular rate and have difficulty conquering debt or building savings.
